Turn Off Your Mental To-Do List

I will never forget this lesson because it changed my life. I remember it vividly. I was in a therapy session years ago, and I was complaining that on the weekends I just vegged out instead of doing all the errands and tasks I needed to do. I felt lazy. My therapist told me just to let myself veg out without thinking about everything. She reminded me that I am so busy in the week and that it’s ok to take time to do nothing. Once I started letting myself truly just chill, then I started taking time to also tackle all the things on my to-do list. I stopped the procrastination cycle because I genuinely rested. Now I take moments to really chill, and my productivity has increased.

Resting isn’t laziness. Give yourself a real break.
