Keep Eye Contact

This makes us feel heard, understood, and appreciated, right? It makes us feel good, so let's bestow that same feeling on others.

When you practice making eye contact, you're...

- in the moment
- present
- focused
- attentive
- increasing your listening skills
- showing respect

I know it can feel awkward, but the more you practice, the easier it will become. I'm working on this with everyone I encounter from the cashier at the store to my friends to new people I meet at work events. It forces me to listen, and it makes my connections more genuine. I have realized that people feel more comfortable, and it makes my bonds stronger.

Let's put our phones down and focus on who's speaking to us. It's a small change that has big results.
