Listen to People's Voices

I know, everyone loves to text. If you know me well, then you know I don't like to have serious conversations over text. There have been many times when people misunderstand or try to figure out what someone means through a text. Then they make assumptions. However, when you talk, the tone, pauses, and what is said give you so much more information.

Plus, how many times do you type something, erase it, and rewrite something else? That is how we edit ourselves. Or how many times have you used an emoji to tame a conversation but really didn't mean it? You can't do that in an actual voice conversation.

Part of emotional intelligence is understanding other people's emotions. You get more information in the tone of someone's voice, in the pauses, and how something is said. The more you truly listen, the more you know.

If that doesn't convince you, then think about how beautiful it is to hear someone's voice rather than look at a screen.

Stop hiding behind a screen, talk it out, and deepen your connections. You got this.
