Balancing Our Emotions is the Balance We Need Most

Why is balance in emotions more important than finding time for your personal and work lives? We all want balance, don't we? For almost two decades I worked too much and craved more time things I wanted like finding time to have fun, time to work out, time to meditate, time for loved ones, etc. However, when I finally made those changes, it wasn't because I miraculously found the time somewhere. It was because I changed the way I thought about myself and others.

I didn't make the time before because I thought I would be lazy or unproductive. But when I decided to stop beating myself up and had more self-compassion, then I felt better, and it was my feelings that led me to take some time for myself and others. A bonus was that when I made the time for other areas in my life, I became more productive in my work because I worked smarter and not harder.

All the decisions we make are based on our thoughts and emotions. The changes we want to make in life first start with how we feel about ourselves, others, and our experiences. This is your mindset. Start with yourself and look at where you doubt yourself, your insecurities, and where you feel less than. Then give yourself some self-compassion. Once you feel better about yourself, you will make changes that are better for your SELF.

Your mindset dictates your life.
